I protest...and it's all on video
Article Abstract:
United Kingdom protesters are increasingly using camcorders to record their activities and deter police violence. They aim to have their pictures used by national TV where possible, but this is rare since TV stations tend to prefer to use their own cameramen. Camcorders were initially used by hunt saboteurs and later been been used by environmentalists protesting against roads being built. The video recording of Rodney King's beating by the Ls Angeles police had a major impact. There is a danger that the police can sieze camcorders and use the material as evidence against protesters, but Thomas Harding, author of "The Video Activist Handbook', supports their usage.

Why Cracker sank over the Atlantic
Article Abstract:
There are mixed views about why 'Fitz,' a version of the successful UK television drama series 'Cracker' made specially for the US, was dropped after only 11 of the planned 22 episodes. Granada believes that the main reason for the failure of 'Fitz' was poor scheduling. However, others believe that Robert Pastorelli did not give as good a performance as Robbie Coltrane, the star of the original version. Granada remains proud to have been the first UK production company to produce a television drama in the US for a US network.
