And that's not all, folks...
Article Abstract:
Screenwriter Simon Beaufoy feels that the film 'The Full Monty' does not really belong to him any more because it has become so popular. He feels considerable frustration that his vital input into this film has not really been recognized. He is aware that he simply has to accept that most people do not understand the role of the screenwriter. He has received many offers from the US, but these have had very few links with the work he really wants to do. He plans to remain in the UK, and hopes to direct a film soon.

Books of the pop age? They won't hear of it
Article Abstract:
The Booker prize for literature does very little to encourage writers who set their work in modern times. Indeed, the judges seem to focus on the past, and welcome strained stylistic novelty. The prize is promoted as a celebration of British literature, but in fact it does no more than encourage portrayals of the past. It fails to recognise the fact that there is a great deal of modern British literature which should be acknowledged.

Will movies kill the soundtrack star?
Article Abstract:
Composer Hans Zimmer greatly enjoys working with film-makers, finding the exchange of ideas very stimulating. He has worked almost exclusively with good directors, but has formed a particularly productive working relationship with James L. Brooks. He regards each film as a personal journey, with the score being a side-effect. Films with which he has been involved include 'The Lion King,' 'Nine Months' and 'As Good As It Gets.'
