Anger as philosopher revives vocabulary of Third Reich
Article Abstract:
Jurgen Habermas, a key figure in German philosophy, has accused Peter Sloterdijk, who has already attracted controversy with his radical views, of advocating eugenics. Sloterdijk stated in a lecture that humanity's potential for barbarism is increasing and that, in an ideal world, the genetic coding for 'bestiality' would be removed. There is considerable uncertainty over his exact meaning, but Habermas, a left-wing philosopher, has branded Sloterdijk a 'fascist.'

Media blitz launched in modern religious war
Article Abstract:
The German government is planning to launch a wide-reaching publicity campaign in the US against the Church of Scientology. It is particularly concerned that many US politicians do not seem to have questioned claims by Scientologists that religious persecution is taking place in Germany. The German government has placed the Church of Scientology under observation, and is trying to assess whether it is seeking to damage Germany's democratic constitution.
