Apocalypso Now
Article Abstract:
It is now possible for Britons to cruise in the eastern Caribbean relatively inexpensively. Thomson, for example, has negotiated very attractive prices for a five-star cruise on the MV Horizon, which is operated by Celebrity Cruises. This departs each Saturday from San Juan, Puerto Rico, but is joined by British passengers on Sundays from the Dominican Republic, as Britannia, Thomson's airline, does not fly to San Juan. The food on this cruise is of an extremely high standard, but the on-board entertainment is rather tedious.

A time machine on rails
Article Abstract:
Travelling by tram in Lisbon, Portugal, seems to transport you back into the 19th century. This is particularly the case when travelling on route 28, which passes through some of the city's most historical areas. These include the districts of Estrela, which has been decaying since the end of the 18th century, and Baixa, which formed the heart of the city in the 19th century. It is very interesting to travel on this route at a time when most parts of the city are being modernized in preparation for Expo '98.

An A to Z of the British invasion of France, 1997
Article Abstract:
France is likely to be extremely popular with British holiday-makers in 1997, especially as fares are low and exchange rates are favourable. It is possible to travel inexpensively from Luton airport to Nice, France, for example, while Eurolines has a direct overnight service from Victoria Coach Station in London, England, to Bordeaux, France, for only 99 pounds sterling. It is possible to travel from Cardiff airport to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France, for only 116.40 pounds sterling.
