Long live Ruthenia!
Article Abstract:
Pharmacologist Professor Ivan Turyanitsa, Prime Minister of the would-be nation state of Ruthenia, believes that those who regard themselves as 'Rusyns,' or 'Carpatho-Rusyns,' should have their own state, located in the boundaries of what is currently the Transcarpathian oblast of Ukraine. This state would have close connections with Ruthenians in Poland and Slovakia. Turyanitsa and his supporters believe that Ruthenian nationality should be an option in the Ukrainian census that is due to take place in 2001.
