Armed and almost dangerous
Article Abstract:
The Cabinet Gallery in Brixton, London, England, is currently staging an exhibition of bombs made by American artist Gregory Green. He is part of a long tradition of artists who used danger in their work, and is also one of a number of contemporary artists presenting art as real life. With them, he seeks to question the world and how people live within it. His bombs are mechanically accurate, but contain no explosives.

Going ape in the gender jungle
Article Abstract:
A group of underground female art activists have for the last 10 years been running a campaign against the Manhattan art world, which they regard as old-fashioned and male-dominated. They use false names and wear gorilla masks when they appear in public. They seek to expose prejudice and double standards, and often demonstrate outside museums and art galleries. They even issue a poster-sized newsletter, 'Hot Flashes.'

Not in front of the British
Article Abstract:
The 'Feminin-Masculin: Le sexe de l'art' exhibition currently being held at the Centre George Pompidou in Paris, France, examines the relationship between sex and art in the 20th century. It is divided into five sections, grouping the around 500 exhibits on the basis of similar or sympathetic themes. It includes work by artists such as Claes Oldenburg, Anish Kapoor and Bruce Nauman, but has some obvious omissions.
