Attack raises stakes in diplomatic game
Article Abstract:
The Bosnian Serbs who are continuing to besiege Sarajevo have caused great problems for the city's inhabitants, but the Muslim-led Bosnian government has not yet taken the decisive step of engaging in direct conflict with the Bosnian Serb forces. Instead, it has stepped up military operations outside Sarajevo, perhaps hoping to force the Bosnian Serbs into making an error which will serve as an excuse to launch a full attack. The government forces and their Croatian allies have had a number of military successes recently, and morale would be improved even further if they could lift the siege of Sarajevo.

In pursuit of lost ground
Article Abstract:
Croatia seems to be on the point of becoming heavily involved in the conflict in former Yugoslavia. Croatian army leaders believe that the Republic of Serb Krajina, declared by militants from Croatia's Serbian minority in 1991, is on the point of collapse, and they hope to bring this about by cutting of supply routes to Knin. However, care must be taken not to provoke retaliation from Serbia, which remains the strongest military power.

Croatian-Muslim alliance holds key to government army gains
Article Abstract:
The Bosnian Serbs are now facing growing military pressure from Muslim and Croat forces on several fronts. They have been damaged by the effective cooperation between the Muslim-led Bosnian government and the Bosnian Croat forces. Bosnian Serb forces are becoming increasingly overstretched, and are now lacking vital resources and manpower. Bosnian Serb forces are now very reluctant to fight outside their native areas.
