Big spender Forbes woos Midwest
Article Abstract:
Conservative publisher Steve Forbes is investing heavily in radio, television and Internet publicity in Iowa as he campaigns for the presidential candidacy for the Republican party. He is focusing on this Midwestern state because a straw poll is to be held there on Aug 14, 1999. This poll will be a valuable indication of the ranking of candidates seeking the party's candidacy for the presidential election in 2000. It is expected that Texas Governor George W. Bush will gain 40% to 50% of the vote, but Forbes believes that he will be able to win second place.

The man on the Moon
Article Abstract:
Neil Armstrong, who on Jul 20, 1969, became the first man to walk on the Moon, had wanted to be a pilot from an early age. He had a pilot's licence on his 16th birthday, having shown great determination to save money for flying lessons. After college, he joined the organization that would become the National Aeronautical and Space Administration. He was intense and shy, and this remained the case even after he had walked on the Moon. He continues to keep a very low profile.
