Blair: My pledge to cut taxes
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour party must stand firm during the world economic crisis, according to Prime Minister Tony Blair. He has rejected growing pressure from members of the party to increase tax levels for the wealthy in order to raise additional funds for public services. He has stated that he is committed to reducing income tax levels, especially high marginal rates for lower income families. He believes that there are more innovative alternatives for raising money than increasing taxes.
