'Boyish' UN front man faces impossible task
Article Abstract:
The activities of Radovan Karadzic, the president of the Bosnian-Serb Republika Srpska, are endangering the peace process in Bosnia, according to Carl Bildt, the High Representative who has been appointed by the United Nations to implement the civilian side of the Dayton peace plan in Bosnia. He has stressed the importance of pursuing war criminals, as only once they have been arrested will normal political life be able to start. He points out that the situation is particularly difficult because of the rather vague nature of the Dayton peace plan, which is being manipulated by all sides to their own advantage.

Old school, old town, old scores
Article Abstract:
The pupils of Gordonstoun public school, which has educated a number of members of the British royal family, seem to exist in relative harmony with the local residents of Morayshire, east of Inverness, Scotland. However, a recent incident in which pupils apparently clashed with some residents of Lossiemouth has attracted considerable media attention. The school is attempting to dismiss it as insignificant, and both sides point out that they lead very separate lives.

Bosnia: the year of filming dangerously
Article Abstract:
There are currently at least seven films being made or planned which are set in Bosnia. Foreign-made films are tending to ignore Bosnia's political situation, focusing exclusively on personal experiences. This has brought criticism from some observers, who feel that film-makers have a duty to report the real horrors of war. Few of the new films will bring any benefits to Bosnians, especially as most of the actual filming will be carried out abroad.
