Article Abstract:
Anglo-Dutch international oil concern Shell aims to increase the proportion of women in its top 400 management positions to 20% by 2003, from the current 4%. Experts believe that this is a reflection of the fact that the nature of many businesses is now making them seriously consider using more women in significant positions. As margins shrink and products become more and more similar, relationships are becoming more vital. It is widely assumed that women are better at establishing effective relationships than men.
