There's method in the madness
Article Abstract:
The members of the Oulipo writers' group, who are mainly French, seek to produce extremely idiosyncratic works using strict, self-imposed formal limitations. A key example of Oulipian work is Perec's lipogrammatic novel 'La disparition,' which never uses the letter 'e.' The group was founded in Nov 1960 at a meeting of mathematicians and writers convened by Raymond Queneau and Francois Le Lionnais. Its members seek to explore the possibilities of languages and structures.
