Singer, guitarist and songwriter Charlie Foxx began composing with his sister Inez after they had both graduated. They moved to New York, NY, in 1963 and released 'Mockingbird' on Symbol, a subsidiary of the Sue R&B imprint. This record was immediately successful, and was followed by several more. They made an immediate impact on the soul scene in the UK, and in 1964 undertook a British tour. They moved to Musicor's soul subsidiary Dynamo in 1967 and had a series of minor hits.

Johnny Moore
Article Abstract:
Singer Johnny Moore became well known through the Hornets, a doo-wop and gospel group. He joined the Drifters, and first performed with this group on 'Adorable,' a single recorded in Sep 1955. He briefly attempted a solo career as Johnny Darrow, but then returned to the Drifters. He took the lead role on 'Under the Boardwalk,' which reached No 4 in the US in 1964. He officially left the Drifters in early 1982, but remained in control of the group until his death.
