Caution: a reputation can be hard to mend
Article Abstract:
There are signs that UK companies are beginning to take a more holistic approach to managing all the various aspects of their communications. This is because they are realizing that it is vital to have a positive reputation. Companies which have a positive reputation are likely to see the intangible net asset value of their business increase, and will become more confident, thus allowing them to increase their sales. There are many different elements which make up a company's reputation, and companies must give attention to ensuring that each element is managed as effectively as possible.

How to mend broken hearts
Article Abstract:
Latest diagnostic tests based on myocardial perfusion have the potential to ensure that sufferers of heart disease are offered the most appropriate treatment. However, these tests are currenlty only being offered to 15% of heart patients who could benefit from them. The technology allows cardiologists to distinguish between dead zones of heart muscle and those which are merely awaiting a new blood supply so that they can start working again. Precise information of this kind would allow major surgery to be avoided in some cases.

I was Alf Garnett's love child
Article Abstract:
Some observers believe that television scriptwriter Johnny Speight, who died recently, created the character of Alf Garnett in 'Till Death Us Do Part' in order to mock the racism, chauvinism and extreme conservatism that was common among white males in the UK in the 1960s. In fact, many ordinary television viewers took Alf Garnett seriously and largely shared his views. Black people were frequently mocked, and Alf Garnett simply said on television what the majority of people said in their own home.
