It is possible to argue that Britons are becoming happier, both in themselves and about themselves. There are indications that a more homogenous society is emerging, with people becoming more inclined to share their enthusiasms with others. There have been a number of examples of classes and races coming together, and a sense of national pride is becoming established. There are a number of possible explanations for this trend, including the popularity of the Labour government, which is regarded as promoting social radicalism and being proactive.

There is great cultural diversity, and local people are extremely warm and friendly. The local cuisine places a high priority on meat.
