Christopher Wordsworth was an author who contributed to the Guardian and Observer newspapers. He worked both as a literary critic and as a sport writer, and had a life-long interest in sport. He studied at Oxford University, but did not complete his studies due to receiving a legacy. His first marriage ended after he failed to write to his wife for almost three years while in the armed forces. He was a source of information for colleagues, and read widely after he ended formal education.

Professor Franz Kahn
Article Abstract:
Astrophysicist Franz Kahn was born in Germany, but educated in the UK. He entered Queen's College, Oxford, England, in 1944, and gained a first in Mathematics in 1947. He became Assistant Lecturer in Mathematics at Manchester University, England, in 1949, and in 1952 became Research Fellow in the Dept of Astronomy, remaining there for the rest of his working life. He gained a particular reputation for his contribution to the physics and dynamics of the interstellar medium.

Christopher Skinner
Article Abstract:
Astrophysicist Christopher Skinner gained a degree in Astronomy and Physics at University College London in 1984. He undertook a PhD research project with the infra-red astronomy group, and then gained a post-doctoral appointment. He obtained an SERC personal Research Fellowship, and worked at Manchester University's Jodrell Bank Radio Observatory in 1990 and 1991. He worked at the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory in northern California for three years from the end of 1991.
