Coventry's new captain signed from Detroit
Article Abstract:
Ford bought Jaguar in 1989 and placed 46-year-old American Jim Padilla as Executive Director, Engineering and Manufacturing. He intends to keep Jaguar's character within a mass-market efficient manufacturing environment. Style and performance are the main characteristics of a Jaguar, so the use of Ford components and specialist suppliers will not affect their appeal. His priorities are products, quality and cost. New models are planned for the mid-90s.
