Cressida Ridley
Article Abstract:
Archaeologist Cressida Ridley began studying in 1961 for the Postgraduate Diploma in Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology in London, England. She then won a scholarship to the British School of Archaeology in Athens, Greece, and joined excavations led by Professor John Evans. She was involved in excavations almost every summer for the next 30 years. She became fluent in modern Greek, and translated several books. She gained great respect for her keen intellect and her down-to-earth approach to life.
