Goethe's city rushes to rebuild a broken heritage
Article Abstract:
The German city of Weimar is particularly well known for its associations with Schiller and Goethe, but in fact has a cultural heritage which is much more extensive than this. Even when it was under the control of the east German regime, efforts were made to ensure that it remained a tourist attraction. Many of its old buildings are now being restored, and it has been designated Europe's official City of Culture for 1999.

Double fault in the Graf empire
Article Abstract:
Tennis player Steffi Graf has always had a very positive image, being seen as respectable and modest. However, the investigation into the tax dealings of her father, Peter, may damage this image for ever. He has always been a key figure in his daughter's professional life, and was responsible for her business dealings. He is now accused of extensive tax evasion, having been involved in suspicious business practices.
