David Sylvester

Writer, art critic and exhibition curator David Sylvester was born in London, England, in 1924. He began his working life as an art writer at Tribune from 1942 to 1945, and also dealt in silver. He moved to Paris, France, in the late 1940s, and was later one of the purchasing committee of the Musee Nationale d'Art Moderne.

Neville Braybrooke
