Did Arafat give a green light to terror?
Article Abstract:
The Israeli government has blamed Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for a suicide bomb attack in Tel Aviv, Israel, in which three people were killed and 61 injured. It believes that Palestinian terrorist organisations have been given approval by Arafat for attacks and that more violence is likely to come. Palestinian leaders have responded by pointing out that the current climate of violence was created by the decision by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow the construction of a Jewish settlement at Har Homa, Jerusalem.

Arafat set to gain from Bibi's stalling
Article Abstract:
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu have agreed a new date for the three-stage withdrawal of Israeli troops from a large part of the West Bank. This follows the intervention of King Hussein of Jordan, who encouraged Arafat to agree to the compromise, pointing out that Netanyahu would not agree to a withdrawal if Arafat was too firm. The first stage of the Israeli withdrawal will begin on Feb 28, 1997.
