Disney celebrates first birthday of town they built out of the American dream
Article Abstract:
The small town of Celebration, FL, is attracting considerable interest from people looking to set up home there. The town, founded by Disney Co in 1996, now has 1,200 residents, attracted by the traditional style of its buildings, its cleanliness and its safe atmosphere. Residents must show their commitment to the town by buying or building a house there and living in it at least nine months of the year. House prices are high for the area, and only certain architectural styles are permitted. Some observers feel that the town lacks real soul.

When a city turns far right
Article Abstract:
The French city of Toulon is relatively prosperous, and was not expected to be the first to elect an extreme-right city council. However, it has done so before a number of larger French cities which were thought much more likely targets for the National Front. Toulon has some run-down housing estates and a large non-European population, and has suffered from some poor planning decisions. This does not really explain why the National Front was able to gain 69% of the vote in the first round of recent municipal elections.

The National Front lies in wait to take French town
Article Abstract:
National Front (NF) candidate Marie-France Stirbois received the support of 35% of voters in the first round of recent local elections in the city of Dreux, France. It could become the first French city with more than 30,000 residents to elect a National Front mayor, and this prospect has encouraged extremely active campaigning by Gerard Hamel, the candidate of the mainstream right RPR party, especially following the withdrawal of the Socialist candidate.
