Divine, darling
Article Abstract:
A concert in autumn 1996 which premiered the whole of 'A Short Album about Love,' which is to be released shortly, was a defining moment for the group The Divine Comdey, according to Neil Hannon, its founder. The group combines pop and orchestral music, and has a wide range of styles. As a songwriter, Hannon has been perceived in many different ways, and still does not feel that he has reached his musical goals. He is constantly considering new projects, rather than looking at the impact of previous ones.

Boys' night out
Article Abstract:
The Comedy Store Players, a semi-permanent group of comedians who have become very well known for their improvisations, have now been performing for 10 years. These comedians welcome the opportunity to improvise in a relaxed environment, and enjoy the fact that the audience tends to participate too. They do not really rehearse at all, but discuss afterwards which jokes have been most successful.

Who was hot, who was not
Article Abstract:

The Fringe had more venues than ever in 1995, but some of the traditional venues were not used. The most impressive theatre companies included Communicado, Starving Artists and the National Student Theatre Company.
