Leopards that will spring out on Labour
Article Abstract:
One of the first challenges facing a future Labour government in the UK would be deciding whether to proceed with plans drawn up by the Conservatives to abolish the Lone Parent Premium and One Parent Benefit. Shadow social security secretary Harriet Harman has stated that a Labour government would not cut these benefits, but this would mean that the 100 million pounds sterling which would have been gained from doing so would have to be found from other sources. This is just one example of serious problems which would face ministers in a future Labour government.

Sorry Reynard, it's a human right to hunt
Article Abstract:
The majority of ordinary people in the UK are opposed to fox hunting, which kills some 20,000 foxes every year. This has prompted the Labour party to emphasise that its leader, Tony Blair, is opposed to fox hunting, deer hunting and hare-coursing with dogs, and to promise that a Labour government will make parliamentary time available for a free vote on the abolition of these pursuits. It is believed that a free vote would lead to hunting being banned by a narrow majority.
