Doing it Dogme style
Article Abstract:
There are many obstacles to overcome when making a film according to the principles of the Dogme Filmmaking Charter developed by Lars Von Trier, according to filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg. He deliberately made things difficult for himself during the making of 'Festen,' but found that addressing these obstacles freed him from mediocrity. He believes that his film is about Danish understatement and the Danish love of humbleness, which is rather oppressive.
