A very nasty smell in Labour's backyard
Article Abstract:
The suicide of a politician from the United Kingdom Labor party, Gordon McMaster, is being investigated by the party's chief whip, Nick Brown. There have been allegations of petty corruption, cronyism, and connections with organized crime. McMaster had supported a neighbor, Irene Adams, in her battle against drugs trafficking in Paisley, Scotland. The Fraud Squad has investigated the corruption issue and has yet to reach a conclusion, so the Labor party may not have much success either.

'Another milestone on road to defeat.' (Labour party's reaction to 1995 Budget)(Budget special)
Article Abstract:
The Labour party has pledged not to oppose the 1p in the pound reduction in income tax introduced in the recent 1995 Budget, but has emphasised that the Budget as a whole will simply serve to make defeat for the Conservative party at the next general election even more likely. Labour party leader Tony Blair has stated that the Budget has failed to relaunch the Conservative party, and has pointed out that taxes have risen overall under successive Conservative governments.
