Don't worry ... be happy
Article Abstract:
Brazil's Bossa Nova musical form, which began with the release of the single 'Chega de Saudade' on EMI's Brazilian subsidiary Odeon in 1958, has had a long-lasting impact on popular music in the western world. Bossa Nova came to international attention in 1962 with the LP 'Jazz Samba' by Charlie Byrd and Stan Getz. This record sparked off strong interest in Bossa Nova in the US, which in turn led to most of the copyrights to the most significant Bossas being purchased by US publishers for very low prices.

Toasting the many moods of Beenie Man
Article Abstract:
There are not really many differences between reggae music of the 1980s and reggae music of the 1990s, according to reggae musician Beenie Man. However, latest reggae music tends to have a more frenzied beat than earlier reggae music. He is strongly aware of his musical heritage, and his album 'Many Moods of Moses' samples and covers a range of reggae songs. This reflects the fact that lack of originality has become more acceptable as the acceptability of dance music has increased.
