The town with bad memories
Article Abstract:
The town of Hyde, England, has become the focus of a police investigation into the activities of Dr Harold Shipman, who has been linked with suspicious deaths. The investigation now covers 116 deaths. Hyde is only a small place, but has already gained international attention because it was where the committal proceedings were held against murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley in 1966. Local people object to the fact that their town has been portrayed very negatively by journalists.
