Doth he protest too much?
Article Abstract:
Turkish men who work in holiday resorts are concerned about being used and discarded by English women on holiday. Thousands of English women have affairs in these resorts each year, and they are free from the repression they find at home, so seek an experience apart from everyday life. The men are not seen as individuals and the women place boundaries between the men and their normal lives. Turkish men may find adapting to Turkish women more difficult and they may be seen as less desirable if they have had many affairs with English women.

Thailand gives you more bang for your baht
Article Abstract:
The Thai baht has dropped by 25% in value, and could fall a further 25% in the year from Aug 1997, which makes Thailand a cheap destination for tourists. This is especially true for British tourists who can benefit from a rise in the value of pound sterling. The top hotels offer bargains, but this could change if they switch from quoting prices in bahts to dollars. Thais are hit by the rising cost of fuel, low wages and seeing tourists attain lifestyles Thais themselves cannot afford.
