The UK government should not reduce its defence expenditure, according to Marc Francois, the prospective Conservative party parliamentary candidate for the Brent East seat. He is also a director of consultancy Market Access International, which represents the interests of many defence contractors. These include Northern Telecom, which is seeking to be placed on the shortlist for two MoD orders. Market Access has a number of close connections with the Conservative party.
