Article Abstract:
Ballet dancer Elaine Fifield developed a strong interest in dancing at an early age. She gain a Royal Academy of Dancing scholarship to study in London, England, at the age of 14, but had to delay coming to the UK from her home in Australia became of the second world war. She studied at the Sadler's Wells Ballet School, and soon joined the Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet. She appeared in featured roles, and was particularly successful in 'Pineapple Poll,' a comedy performed for the Festival of Britain in 1951.

Svetlana Beriosova
Article Abstract:
Ballerina Svetlana Beriosova spent most of her early childhood in Paris, France, although she also travelled with the ballet company to which her father belonged. She moved to New York, NY, after the outbreak of the second world war, and began professional ballet training. She made occasional appearances with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, and made her professional debut in 1947 in 'The Nutcracker' and 'Les Sylphides.' She joined Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet as a principal in 1950.

Gerd Larsen
Article Abstract:
Ballet dancer and teacher Gerd Larsen was born in Oslo, Norway, in 1920. She moved to London, England, in her late teens to study ballet, and she joined the London Ballet. She later joined Sadler's Wells Ballet.
