Mary Jane Croft was an actress who was especially important in radio broadcasting. She set up a TV company with her husband and hired many radio actors to work for her, since she had a great respect for the medium. She was a regular on 'Our Miss Brooks' and performed in "Beulah'. The latter was a controversial radio series due to the way that it portrayed African Americans. Croft was also the voice for a basset hound in 'The People's Choice', a TV series.
