Enid Marx
Article Abstract:
Painter and designer Enid Marx studied at the Royal College of Art in the 1920s, but failed to gain her diploma because she refused to accept authority. Her first work was for the well-known textile design team Phyllis Barron and Dorothy Larcher. She began her own workshop in 1926, where she designed and made hand-blockprinted textiles. Her designs, which were usually geometric and abstract, soon became extremely popular.
