Fairey shares fall on takeover denial
Article Abstract:
Reports that US group Thermo Electron was preparing for the acquisition of a European electronics company have led to speculation that Fairey, the UK electronics company, could be in line for takeover. Fairey has suffered from market over-capacity and the strength of sterling over the last year. However, the company denies it is in any talks, and Thermo Electron says its comments about acquisition were only an example of the options open to the group.
