Father John Ramsay
Article Abstract:
Soldier and priest John Ramsay joined the Scots Guards in 1944, and served in Malaya. He went to Beda College in Rome, Italy, in 1955 to study for the priesthood, and served in Scottish parishes until his death, apart from his time as spiritual director of the Scots College in Rome between 1975 and 1977. He was greatly admired for his organizational skills, gained during his time in the Scots Guards, and for the fact that he did not distance himself from ordinary people.

Patricia Cunninghame Graham
Article Abstract:
Patricia Hanbury married the then Lt-Cdr Angus Cunninghame Graham in 1924. He was senior naval officer of the China station between 1936 and 1938, and she was able to recount at first hand to Britons the traumatic experiences of the Japanese invasion of Mancuria and China. Her husband was Lord-Lieutenant of Dumbartonshire from 1955 to 1968, and she became a significant figure in Scottish society. She devoted a lot of time to the Scottish National Trust.

Cardinal Thomas Winning
Article Abstract:
Priest Thomas Winning was born in Wishaw, Scotland, in 1925. He studied in Glasgow, Scotland, and Aberdeen, Scotland, before entering the Scots College in Rome, Italy, in 1946. He was ordained in 1948.
