Article Abstract:
Architect Daniel Libeskind's plans for a 75 million pounds sterling extension to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England, have attracted considerable controversy. The museum's administrators are very pleased with the design, known as The Spiral, and feel that rejecting it would indicate that the UK is unwilling to become fully committed to modern art and architecture. The scheme has even gained the support of English Heritage, but local groups have expressed opposition.
