Fatherland sees truth through a looking glass
Article Abstract:
Media coverage in Serbia of the conflict in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, gives a very unbalanced view of developments there. Nato air attacks are being portrayed as acts of international aggression against Serbia, an innocent nation which is merely protecting itself against the terrorism of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Yugoslav Air Defence Commander General Spasoje Smiljanovic has stated that Yugoslavia has sustained minimal losses among its air-raid personnel, although he has recognized that there has been significant damage to stationary facilities.

Families blasted in 'just another mistake.'
Article Abstract:
Two Nato bombs struck homes in the small town of Surdulica, Serbia, causing at least 20 deaths and injuring large numbers of people. Local people believe that the town was deliberately targeted by Nato, but Nato has stated that the incident was a mistake. The dead included a large number of children who had been sheltering in a house with a cellar believed to be strong enough to withstand such an attack.
