Fear enters the soul of the Mother of Parliaments
Article Abstract:
Liberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes has received death threats after persuading several key witnesses to the murder of a young man in Rotherhithe, London, England, in Aug 1997 to give evidence against those responsible. His intervention led to three young men being convicted of the murder. His actions have given hope to many people whose lives are blighted by neighbourhood bullies. It can be argued that he has carried out a very significant act in defence of democracy.
