Feminine hygiene or sales hype?
Article Abstract:
Feminesse is a vaginal gel produced by Columbia Laboratories Inc, which purports to correct the natural acid balance of the vagina and eliminate odour. It contains sorbic acid and works by bioadhesion. A condition called bacterial vaginosis (BV) produces a fishy smell when the balance of bacteria is disturbed. Feminesse is sold over the counter so cannot claim to treat BV. Consultant in genito-urinary medicine Dr Elizabeth Claydon will conduct a study of BV at St Mary's Hospital Paddington, London, England.

Private health care meeting public needs
Article Abstract:
There are extensive links between the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and the private medical care sector. The NHS purchases a great deal of health care from non-NHS providers, and the private sector is now seen as making a significant contribution to the overall provision of health care in the UK. With cooperation, patients, health service managers and GPs can be offered a much wider range of choices.

When spring sun turns your thoughts to cobwebs
Article Abstract:
The biggest UK domestic cleaning agency is Poppies, which has 45 branches. Agencies view the property and consult with the owner before providing an estimate for spring cleaning, as standards and needs vary. The type of house and lifestyle of the owners affects the cost. A four-bedroomed 1911 semi in London would cost about 150 pounds sterling for three cleaners who bring their own equipment.
