Field rejoins pension war with proposal to pay out 7,000 pounds sterling each

Frank Field is shortly to launch his all-party Pension Reform Group's proposals for a new universal protected pension. This would be funded by increasing employees' national insurance contributions from 10% to 15% of income from the age of 25. Retirees would then receive a flat-rate pension equivalent to a third of average earnings.
