Article Abstract:
The UK's new Family Law Bill, which recently received its second reading, has failed to make the situation regarding pension-splitting as part of a divorce settlement clearer. It is now likely that it will be at least another two years before this issue is resolved. The government has been strongly opposed to the splitting of pension funds, believing that this will be an expensive approach.
