Article Abstract:
There are a number of successful cartoonists who have chosen to publish and distribute their work themselves. The most well known is Dave Sims, whose comic sells around 30,000 copies each month in the UK. He undertakes all the publishing and distribution, ensuring that his publishing company obtains maximum revenue. This approach has also been taken by cartoonists Paul Grist and Gary Spencer Millidge. Their books are distributed both in Europe and the US, selling through specialist comic stores.

There's no such thing as a free lunch
Article Abstract:
The UK Stock Exchange's Crest computerized trading system could have a negative impact on shareholders who receive incentives, such as discount vouchers. Crest will force small investors to place their shares in nominee accounts or pay higher dealing charges. There is no guarantee that shareholders in nominee accounts will have access to the incentives to which they have hitherto been entitled. It is worth checking a company's policy on nominee accounts before purchasing any shares.

The road to free travel is strewn with flowers
Article Abstract:
A number of United Kingdom retailers offer Air Miles schemes and there is a large difference in sums that have to be spent to gain one air mile. This can vary from 0.35 pounds sterling to 20 pounds, with Flying Flowers, a florist, offering one of the best deals. Consmers can employ double dipping techniques and gain air miles from different sources through the same transaction, for example from the method of payment and the product bought.
