Article Abstract:
There are a number of key elements required for a really effective theatre. The seating must be sloped to allow those sitting at the back a good view of the stage, but the slope must not be too great. Generally, small theatres are more effective than large ones, with the ideal size being around 400 seats. However, the costs of staging some productions can be very high, and this means that a larger audience is required if the production is to be cost-effective.

The great tenor pretenders
Article Abstract:
Argentinian tenor Jose Cura does not regard himself as the Fourth Tenor. He is particularly keen to avoid any comparison with Placido Domingo. He sees himself as an actor who sings, rather than a singer who pretends to act. He also points out that he has gained recognition through hard work, rather than suddenly becoming famous. He is completely devoted to his work, and has gained extensive experience, even though he is only 35 years old.

Tenor counter tenor
Article Abstract:
Growing up in a musical environment can have a great influence on a person's future life, according to tenor Nigel Robson and his brother Christopher, a counter-tenor. They have both gained reputations as specialists in 20th century music, reflecting their father's interest in modern music. He encouraged them to listen to composers such as Stockhausen and Messiaen, and also fostered their interest in performing.
