Self-publish and be damned
Article Abstract:
Writer Timothy Mo has decided to publish his latest novel, 'Brownout on Breadfruit Boulevard,' himself, following an unenthusiastic reaction from publishers. There was particular concern about the first chapter of the novel, which contains some rather unpleasant material, and this prompted Mo to take the unusual step for an author of dealing with the publishing independently. He has found it a positive move, giving him full control over his output.

A long goodbye to Berlin
Article Abstract:
Author Michael Ignatieff believes that it is very important for him to write in such a way that he feels he is living his life. For this reason, he is not concerned that he has not found a single vehicle for his many ideas. He likes living in the UK, which he regards as being as dynamic as anywhere else in the world. He is particularly concerned about developments within the precision weapons industry and about human rights in the post-war period.
