For a sign of the times, look no further than the Windsors
Article Abstract:
The fact that today's royal children often appear to be tense and unhappy when photographed, whereas the Queen and Princess Margaret always seemed secure and confident as children, reflects social upheavals which have taken place in recent decades. The changes which have taken place within the royal family and in the attitude of the media and the general public towards the royal family are very much in line with changes in family life as a whole over the last 50 years. The young female members of the royal family are starting to assert their rights, just as many ordinary wives are doing, and a new model of family life is emerging.
