In Serbia, too, the ordinary people feel the suffering and agony of war
Article Abstract:
Nato air strikes against Serbia have now killed a considerable number of civilians. In Aleksinac, Serbia, up to 24 civilians may have been killed by a bomb thought to have been dropped by an RAF Harrier. Nato states that the bomb could have suffered a malfunction, leading to collateral damage. Many homes were destroyed in Cuprija, Serbia, when Nato attacked the local barracks, and 120 workers at the Zastava car plant in Kragujevac, Serbia, were wounded in a cruise missile attack.

'A great orange glow lit the hilltops.'
Article Abstract:
Many residents of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, are very dismissive of Western leaders who believe that Nato air strikes are necessary to protect ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Local people are also very sceptical about western media coverage of the conflict in Kosovo. It seems clear that Nato will not be willing to risk ground troops in order to put a stop to Serb action in Kosovo, and for this reason it will be necessary to continue with air attacks.
