George Male
Article Abstract:
Footballer George Male initially played for his local amateur team, but signed amateur forms for Arsenal in Nov 1929. He turned professional in 1930. He made his senior debut in Dec 1930, and played in the 1932 FA Cup Final. He switched to right back position at the beginning of the 1932 to 1933 season, and performed very well for Arsenal in the club's campaign for the 1936 FA Cup. He received his first cap in 1934, and subsequently played a further 18 times for England.

Jackie Blanchflower
Article Abstract:
Footballer Jackie Blanchflower left his native Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the age of 16 to play for Manchester United. He made his senior debut at right-half in 1951, and gained a regular place as an inside-forward in the 1953 to 1954 season. He scored 24 goals over two seasons, and gained a Championship medal in 1955 to 1956. He was almost killed in the Munich, Germany, air crash in Feb 1958, and for some years failed to rediscover the direction in his life.
