Peter Monteverdi
Article Abstract:
Car designer and manufacturer Peter Monteverdi gained a strong interest in cars at an early age. He served a four-year apprenticeship at the Saurer truck works in Arbon, Switzerland, and took over his father's truck repair shop in 1956. This business expanded rapidly after diversifying into sports car tuning and repairs. He constructed the first and only Swiss Formula One car, and became the Swiss Ferrari importer. He was particularly successful with the Monteverdi 3755, launched in autumn 1967.
