Air fares return to earth
Article Abstract:
European Union deregulation has forced national carriers to face up to competition, and this has led to promotions offering cheaper flights and special deals. Most European airlines are now also looking to boost profit levels by expanding their catchment areas.

Bracing for the shock of the old
Article Abstract:
People should be made more aware of the need to make adequate financial provision for their old age, according to Ann Robinson, new director-general of the National Association of Pension Funds. Most people have not yet appreciated the full impact of the government's new emphasis on personal pensions, and need to be told that they can no longer take government help in their old age for granted.
