Get training - you know IT makes sense
Article Abstract:
The UK information technology (IT) industry is offering very attractive opportunities for graduates. Leading IT outsourcing contractor EDS is planning to recruit 700 graduates in 1998. It takes on many graduates who do not have a background in IT, training them in IT and business analysis skills. This is also the case at IT consultancy CAP/Gemini, which recruits graduates from many different backgrounds. The Confederation of British Industries believes that high levels of demand for graduates in the IT industry will not last indefinitely.

Cyberspace on earth
Article Abstract:
A computer hacking exhibition called HIP 97, or Hacking in Progress, has been held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The festival sported tents linked with wires, and the men tended to wear T shirts and shorts. The hackers were well-behaved and illegal hacking was banned. Most hackers are already employed in the computer industry, though some companies were seeking to recruit staff at the exhibition. A hierarchy was evident among hackers, and a code of ethics, such as remaining anonymous.
